Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is real, and we understand. Our sedation dentistry options help you feel calm, comfortable, and relaxed during any dental procedure - from routine cleanings to complex treatments.

Sedation Dentistry

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative inhaled through a small mask over your nose. It helps you feel relaxed and comfortable during your procedure, and its effects wear off quickly so you can drive yourself home.

Oral Sedation

For moderate anxiety, we may prescribe oral sedation medication taken before your appointment. You'll be awake but deeply relaxed. You'll need someone to drive you to and from your appointment.

IV Sedation

For significant anxiety or complex procedures, IV sedation provides a deeper level of relaxation. Administered by our qualified team, it allows us to closely monitor and adjust your comfort level throughout the procedure.

Benefits of Sedation Dentistry

  • Overcome dental fear and anxiety safely
  • Multiple sedation levels to match your comfort needs
  • Complete more treatment in fewer visits
  • Wake up with little or no memory of the procedure
  • Experienced, certified sedation providers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is sedation dentistry safe?

Yes, when administered by trained professionals, dental sedation is very safe. We monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure and carefully review your medical history beforehand.

Will I be asleep during sedation?

With nitrous oxide and oral sedation, you'll be awake but very relaxed. IV sedation produces a deeper state where you may drift in and out of consciousness. General anaesthesia (full sleep) is available for surgical procedures.

Does insurance cover sedation dentistry?

Some insurance plans cover sedation for certain procedures. We'll help you understand your benefits and discuss costs during your consultation.
